Collection: Laser printer

For businesses and private users who primarily print text, purchasing a black and white laser printer is recommended. Thanks to economical toner, running costs remain low. If you mainly print images and smaller amounts of text, a color laser printer offers a wide range of possibilities. A color laser printer is also recommended for enhancing your business documents, for example, by adding a color logo to your letterhead!

Laser Printer Buying Guide

What should you look for when buying a laser printer?

Printing Costs

Printers in office supplies are usually used much more frequently than at home. For this reason, when buying, attention should be paid to a low printing cost per page. A price of 1.5 to 3 cents per page is desirable.

Laser Printer Type

Depending on your needs, you must decide whether a black and white laser or a color laser is suitable. For the office, a simple black and white laser printer is usually completely sufficient. In most cases, the cost per page is lower and the printing speed is higher.

Resolution

The more precise and high-quality the prints are to be, the higher the resolution of the laser printer should be chosen. A resolution of at least 300 x 300 dpi is sufficient for simple purposes. If it involves detailed graphics, the resolution should be at least 600 x 600 dpi.

Print Speed

Print speed also depends on individual circumstances. Open-plan offices should therefore pay particular attention to high speed. If more than 2000 pages per month are typically printed, the print speed should be around 30 pages per minute. For small offices, a lower number of pages per minute is usually sufficient.

Energy Efficiency

For the sake of the environment and low running costs, attention should be paid to power consumption during continuous operation. The laser printer should not consume more than 3 to 7 watts in standby mode. When the printer is switched off, it should ideally consume 0 watts or a maximum of 0.3 watts.

Operating Noise

A not to be underestimated criterion when choosing a printer is the noise level of the device. A printer with loud operating noises can be a real nuisance during work, especially if it is located directly next to the workstation.

Features

The features depend on the intended use

  • Wired or WLAN network access
  • Duplex function (two-sided printing)
  • possibly another paper tray (pay attention to max. input capacity)
  • possibly USB port

Laser printer: Häufige Fragen

Sind die gebrauchten Laserdrucker geprüft?

Ja.
